Kertha Gosa is a wonderful park that lies in the center of the town of Semarapura about 40 kilometers from Dempasar. Built in the 17th century, the courtyard and floating temple were formerly a part of the Semarapura Palace of the Klungkung kingdom. The floating pavilion built in traditional Balinese architecture is surrounded by floating lotus blossoms representing an island of splendor surrounded by ocean. This structure was used as as waiting room for those who had come to see the king. |
