Temples of Bali

Bali is the island of the Gods.

For the people of Bali, religion, consisting of a unique blend of Hindu and Buddhism, is inseparable from everyday life. Every village has its temple or shrine surrounded by beautiful offerings, splended stone and wood carvings. Music and dance provide entertainment for the Gods and colorful village ceremonies are common.

Ulun Dano temple is located on Lake Bratan and is a shrine to the goddess of Lake Bratan.

The courtyard and floating temple at Kertha Gosa, in the province of Klundkung was a part of the Semarapura Palace of the Klungkung kingdom.

Pura Uluwatu, one of the most spectacular temples in Bali, pays homage to the guardian spirits of the sea.
